Muted Harmony: Apartment Interior Design in Jayanagar, Bangalore

Muted Harmony is a completed 2,000 sq ft apartment interior design project for B&B Residence 01 in Jayanagar, Bangalore. Designed as the first of two apartments for the B&B family in the same building, the brief focused on comfort, calmness, and everyday living rather than a highly decorative interior. The clients wanted a home with low visual noise, soft materials, and a relaxed atmosphere that would remain comfortable over time.

The design uses a restrained palette of sand, oatmeal, and warm white, allowing texture to add depth without relying on strong patterns or colour contrast. Bouclé and linen-weave upholstery, a jute-blend rug, and fluted panelling behind the sofa bring subtle variation, while dark wenge-finish wood is used selectively to anchor the interiors.

A single joinery wall in the living-dining area combines the TV unit, closed storage, and open display ledge, keeping the remaining space open for circulation. The kitchen pairs sand-toned matte laminate shutters with a dark engineered-stone countertop for durability. Both bedrooms continue the oatmeal-and-white palette with matching wenge accents. Warm lighting runs throughout, with cove lighting in the living areas and bedrooms and focused task lighting in the kitchen and study corner.
